Workshops at the Grand Northern Uke Festival

I’m really pleased to be back at the Grand Northern Uke Festival again this year, along with over 30 other acts, including Aaron and Nicole Keim (The Quiet American), Manitoba Hal, Sarah Maisel & Craig Chee, Zoe Bestel, Dead Man’s Uke, Adam Franklin and Ian Emmerson. If you’re um-ing and ah-ing about coming, don’t wait. It’s just £39 for a weekend ticket, which is getting pretty close to £1 an act!

There are, of course, workshops too. I’m running a brand new workshop called ‘Jamming Essentials’, which will teach you how to get stuck in playing with other people, even when you don’t know the song, without having to go searching on the internet for the chords!

See you there!

Double-header gig with Dead Man’s Uke, Belper, Derbyshire 18th October

Really looking forward to this gig! Not only is it at my local venue, the hidden gem that is the upstairs band room at The Queen’s Head, Belper, but I’m sharing the bill with Dead Man’s Uke.
Dead Mans Uke is a stripped down ukulele and bass combo that plays blues, Americana, old and new covers and anything else they darn well please on resonator ukulele and double bass. We’ve played together at various uke festivals around the UK, and they always get the place swinging. They get their name from the uke that Tim plays, which used to belong to ukulele legend Tiny Tim!

Tickets are £7 from the venue (The Queen’s Head, 29 Chesterfield Rd. Belper DE56 1FF), or you can buy them online here…

It’s going to be a great night!
